The Legend of NeoSuunism
NeoSuunism is the birthchild of Chiisu Suun, beloved young leader of the Marimaian people. It is a composite ideology calling upon aspects of several other successful (and some not so successful) political systems. The doctrine states that the Marimaian people are intrinsically superior to others; they only engage in diplomatic relations with nations which are also superior or have the potential to become superior.
Domestic policy is surprisingly liberal compared to the almost-Fascist foreign policy. There is very little state interference in the private lives of citizens; same-sex marriage, recreational drugs, prostitution, all and more are legal in Marimaia. Of course there is the requisite propaganda that every dictatorship engages in, but Marimaian propaganda is lighthearted compared to that of other regimes.
Economic policy is a hybrid of socialism and capitalism. The economy is dominated by the Concerns, large monolithic corporations which are half state-owned and half privately-owned. However, the government recognises that competition is healthy, so subsidies exist for small businesses. However, foreign companies must undergo rigorous checks before being allowed to do business within Marimaia's borders.
