Military

The Mernidokian army consists of 10 Chapters, each containing approximately 15,000 trained soldiers. The number of soldiers in each Chapter is kept low in order to promote manuverabiliy, but the Chapters routinely train together in order to make their divisions able to be combined effectively to produce larger forces. While each Chapter does have its own Commander, when Chapters are combined there are Commanders trained to lead the larger forces. The regular commanders are expected to remain with the squad in order to keep their Chapter in line and provide familiarity. Generally Chapters are combined with Chapters close to their number, as this allows for recognition even when combining.

Mordachnar

Mordachnar are trained to be proficient in all kinds of combat. However, due to the rigors of training (known to take many apprentices lives) and the time and resources required to train them, they are not a very large force. While they can hold their own it combat, that is not their true strength.

The Mordachnar are experts in infiltration and assassination. However, due to their rarity, they are rarely called upon for this duty, due to the certain execution if they are caught. The good majority of them are used to train soldiers, or plan military strikes, although many are involved in reconnasaince or or as royal guards. No better way to stop an assassination than to have one who knows the tricks nearby. Due to the nature of their job, they bear no distinguishing marks, nor any special uniform.

The Mordachnar training area is unknown to all but the Mordachnar and the Emperor. Due to the risks that the publication of this location could have on the school, new apprencites are taken blindfolded and with there hands and arms bound so as to prevent rejected students from releasing the location.

Till now the Mordachnar has been a purely Mernidokian group, but with the rise of Rocurian Malevolto came the presentation of a Mordachnar guard to Akaeia, as well as the news of accepting Akaeian students (all to be thoroughly screened before final acceptance). After this however, Rocurian suprised the nation with the commercialization of the Mordachnar's unique abilities. Other nations are now permitted to purchase the service of a Mordachnar, be it for peace or for elimination, but it is not a common occasion when a purchase is made.

Always the threat of becoming outdated is a matter of great concern for the Mordachnar. If another nation were to develope something similar, plans are quickly made to infiltrate the organization and, if at all possible, bring it down. While the Montre Noire are thorns in the sides of the Mordachnar, it has been exceptionally difficult to gain acess to them, and as such there are very few present there. However, because they are not assassins (mostly) they are not considered as much of a threat as if they were. They do make jobs exceedingly difficult, but nothing impossible.

Religion

The Mernidokian faith, known as Galdrich, consists of one God. Although he is one God, he contains seven distinct personas. The Creator, the Judge, the Punisher, the Forgiver, the Condemner, the Guide, and the Temptor. There is no set day of worship, but practitioners are required to go to service once a week.

The Mernidokian flag depicts the holy texts, which show a burning hand print to symbolize the Lord's purifying fires, and a sheild with the Lord's face showing his protection of his folowers.

Any citizen refusing to follow the Mernidokian faith is executed, although some exceptions do apply, namely the Mordachnar, who are not held to this for the fear that religious morals may hamper their ability to kill.
