Modre is a small, irrelevant nation in the eyes of many, and can stay that way. Most of their citizens would prefer to be left alone by the more powerful governments who are either seen as being corrupt dictatorships or corrupt capitalists. Modre's financial enterprises pretty much stop at their one colony, Violitism, which is given almost complete freedom, as the reason for sending them away had primarily to do with religion then anything.
The people who moved to this colony were religious fanatics called Violetists who separated from popular Moderian belief by endorsing human sacrifice for the sake of religion. The Moderian people were faced with a dilemma, finally deciding that religious freedom could be preserved by allowing the fanatics their own area away from the main continent of Modre. Thus the colony of Violitism was formed. The Moderian's were incredibly embarrassed by their permanent spelling error, but were able to find pride in their solution to the problem.
