Introduction
The NationStates Tennis Alliance is made up of a group of nations who volunteer to host tennis tournaments in NationStates.
Nations in the alliace host tournaments in rotation so that all will be given a fair chance to host. The cycle starts with the Red Dot Open, and the last tournament in the cycle would be the latest member's tournament.
Any nation can host a tournament, but tournaments hosted by non-members may have little or no bearing on the ranks. A nation may consider joining the NSTA after hosting a tournament and membership is entirely voluntarily. Being in the alliance means that their future tournaments will have a heavier bearing on the ranks. They can also reject joining instead and remain as non-members. They may consider joining again after two cycles.
All tournaments are part of the NSTA International Tour.

History
The alliance started out as the NationStates Tennis Association. It was created by One Red Dot with the intention of those in the group being able to hosts opens - tournaments with a heavier bearing on ranking - and also were able to approve other nations' tournaments as official minor tournaments. After NSTAIT1, changes were made to the structure so as make things easier for host entry and dissolve the lines between major and minor tournaments
Scoring
Scores are generated by a scorinator developed by Cockbill Street on an Excel spreadsheet. The probability of winning a game is influenced by the players' rank and random functions. No name has been given to the scorinator as of yet.
Ranks and Points
Ranking is based upon the KPB ranking system. The players earn points for each set they win or lose and are thus ranked by points.
