Earth

The Commonwealth of Nephtali is located in southeastern Sisgardia. It's lands are predominately vast tropical rainforests with some plains and temperate areas in the far west and northwest. There are only a few main cities, and these are located among the central waterway and string together to form a megacity.
Nephtali architecture is most readily comparable to Aztec/Mayan, of course with all the futuristic amenities and structural support needed. Buildings are most often created with monolithic stone blocks. The Grand Waterway is quite a site, lined with giant Aztec-style buildings that continue on for hundreds of miles.

Government

The Commonwealth is an inoffensive Centrist Democracy. Domestic matters are handled by an elected Senate, while foreign policies are handled by an elected Chancellor. Corporations often exercise extreme political power. This is countered by laws which only allow citizens unaffiliated with the corporations to run for office. Possibly the only thing saving the Commonwealth from itself is the extreme nationalism of its people.

Military

The Commonwealth Military Contract is a collection of government contracted private companies which defend the nation. There are 2 main fleet. One protects Commonwealth assets in Sol. The other explores and acts as a trade fleet.

General Labor Inc. is a Private Military Contractor (PMC) responsible for the Commonwealth's soldiers. Oleander Drive Yards is another PMC which provides ships and engines for the Commonwealth's Fleets.

Population

The Nephtali
Nephtali are humanoid in appearance. They are tall and lanky, with slightly elongated fingers. Their skin is colored blue to brown with interesting patterns. Beneath their skin, however, lies fiber instead of bone. It is not clear if the Nephtali are plants or animals, as they have characteristics of both. They absorb nutrients through their skin for nourishment. Due to thier plant-nature, Nephtali drink large amounts of water anf thier skin shifts to green in order to photosynthesize. Nephtali children will shed thier skin annualy until they are fully grown.

The Axa
Reptilian humanoids genetically created by early Nephtali scientists. Axa stand about 5'6" but are stronger than the average human. They are genetically encoded to be unable to harm a Nephtali. This has not prevented the Axa from achieving equal standing within the Commonwealth.

Origins

Little is known about the Nephtali. It is clear that the first were created by an Israeli genetics team. After this, it is believed that the original Nephtali escaped with the researchers' data and techniques. Nothing else is known until the Commonwealth was founded for the growing species.

Industry

The commonwealth has, in the past, been renowned for its unhindered slave trade. Currently, General Labor Inc. sells both sapient and non-sapient genetically created "servants." However, there is expected to be a discontinuation of sapient products due to rights violations, public pressure, and the Chancellory. General Labor Inc. is a Private Military Contractor, and is responsible for the hiring, training, and equiping of soldiers for the Commonwealth.
Oleander Drive Yards is a propulsion firm, most notable for its "Tesseract Drive" and widely used Ion Engine for sublight space travel. ODY also produces military ships for the Commonwealth.
Commonwealth Transit is a transport company for both passengers and cargo. Axan Armaments is the first widely successful corporation founded by an Axa. It has risen to become the top arms producer in the Commonwealth. AA specializes in non-lethal weapons such as stunners and energy dampeners.

Controversy

Many nations chose to ignore the details of the Commonwealth's corporations and laws. It has been branded as a slave-trade nation, although this is blatantly false. While the trade of sapient products is called to question, General Labor Inc. has already agreed to a conference to discuss the discontinuation of all sapient products.
Another point of controversy has been the Axa. Many nations exagerate the amount of genetic engineering done. These nations see the term "loyal" when describing the Axa to mean they are slaves to the Nephtali. This is not true. The Axa are full citizens, equal to the Nephtali. When they are described as "genetically encoded to be loyal to the Commonwealth/Nephtali" it means they are genetically encoded not to harm a Nephtali. All Axa have free will and thier own opinions, and are allowed to voice those opinions, petition, protest, etc, so long as Nephtali are not harmed.

Tech Level

The Commonwealth of Nephtali can be described as a mix between Future and Post-Modern Tech. Space-travel and Genetic Engineering are future-tech. However, most everything else is post-modern.
