Introduction
The Confederacy of New Zealand States is a tiny, economically powerful nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed. There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, moralistic individuals devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining, Trout Farming, and Cheese Exports industries. New Zealand States's national animal is the serpent, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the dollar.
History
The forming of this confederacy followed the overthrow of the New Zealand Government on July 8th 2007. This was followed by a period of civil war throughout the land, several states were showing there strength. Three major states combined to bring forth a new show of force, these were the states of Wanganui, Wellington and Otago. These three joined forces and formed under the flag that now represents The Confederacy of New Zealand States, within weeks they had control of all land south of Lake Taupo. This forms the current border of The New Zealand States.
