Background
The Phoenix Territories of New Kitara was founded sixty years ago, the gathering of fragmented provinces that, together, were once called Neo-Kitara. Following a civil war that decimated the country and a dark age that spawned from the end of a nuclear holocaust, an offshoot of the former government took power and brought stability to a land that had not known stability for nearly two decades.
The people of New Kitara, typically referred to as Kitarans (or Kit'i, for short) have inhabited the planet for approximately 80,000 years. A sublight colony ship, filled with war refugees from a distant quadrant of the universe, landed and settled on the planet and began life again, using whatever supplies they had brought with them to build a new civilization.
