History
The United Socialist States of Paranoian Mundia started out as a small, anarchic nation with high crime levels. This changed when Dirk Berkheij was appointed leader. The government fared a libertarian course, abolished capitalism and changed the mode of production. From then on, there was no return to capitalism since the United Socialist States are out of world economics.
Everday life
The United socialist states have huge skyscrapers coming from the ground, especially in urban areas. The standard of living is very high, despite the butchered economy. The Socialist States' only source of corporate income is from overtaken multinationals which attempted to move into the U.S.S. to profit from the 'commercial opportunities' (which were in fact a fata morgana side-effect caused by the delegalization of private enterprise) but ended up bankrupt and commonly owned due to extreme regulation.
Paranoian has a very rich culture caused by the many different ethnicities and cultures in the nation. Popular music is influenced by all kinds of genres which are rather unknown in other nations. The apartments in the U.S.S.P.M. are luxury and apartment buildings often contain at least one swimming pool.
Politics
The nation has a very left-wing political climate; corporations get overtaken by the government or flunk out of the country. People are allowed to do whatever they want, unless they go into business, in which case they might end up murdered by other people. The average Paranoian is very altruistic and always votes left-wing presidential candidates. Some formerly rich people frequently demonstrate at the presidents office, but these are ignored or used as a reminder by the extreme left-wing president (Dirk Berkheij) to oppress business even more.
