Polockistan is a very profit-oriented nation, focusing on the end rather than the means. Polockistan has nearly no crime, thanks to the omnipresent and omniscient police force. Polockistan is a conservative nation, and while it limits the rights of the citizens, it is in their best interests and the interests of their safety that it does so.
Polockistan has a strict "no-handouts" policy, essentially meaning that anything with the word "social" in it is non-existant. It does, however, have an excellent and affordable health care system, the back bone being four LifeWyze MediCare facilities in four of Polockistan's major cities, Winton, Handwall, Gretham and Delfburg, as well as four in the capital, Polockistan City. Citizens from all over Polockistan can travel to any one of these facilities to recieve treatment.
Leadership
Polockistan City is the seat of power in Polockistan, the home of the beautiful Minister Manor, which houses the Chief Minister as well as the Ministers of each Ministry: Foreign Affairs, International Intelligence, Civil Investigation, Domestic Development, Defence, Health Services, Labor, Agriculture and Education. The titles of each minister are formed by taking the first three (or four, in the Minister of Agriculture's case) letters of the first word of the Ministry and adding -min. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is the Formin, the Minister of Health Services is the Heamin, and so on.

Polockistan is currently led by Chief Minister (Chimin) Saul Meggido, sucessor to the father of the Great Revolution Nathan Barrett, in which Polockistan overthrew a corrupt, socialist government and replaced it with the current capitalist and protective leadership. June 25th marks the date the Great Revolution began, and is thus a holiday, as is August 15th, the date it ended. Barrett was assassinated on June 2nd, which Meggido has recently made a national holiday in honor of the former Chief Minister.
Saul Meggido, former Minister of Education, was elected after Former Chimin Nathan Barrett's assassination. He has taken a strong stance on education, and is currently trying to raise the mandatory schooling minimum from until age 16 to until age 18. In doing so, he would eliminate the two years of mandatory civil service required of all out of school students. Many in the government feel this would be a bad idea, since Polockistan is dependent on such civil service.
Meggido was born in Gretham, before the revolution. Once out of school, he went to Polockistan City to make his name in the field of teaching, and did, becoming the head of the Teacher's Association. Once the Revolution occured, Meggido was asked to lead the new Ministry of Education, and took on the role whole-heartedly and without question. He has been responsible for many of the education reforms, such as increased pay for teachers, as well as recruiting educators from outside of Polockistan to train teachers in the newest education methods.
Science
Polockistan has recently developed a form of nanotechnology, and the Ministry of Domestic Development is currently looking into its uses and viability. Polockistan has also entered into a Research and Development pack with LifeWyze, and shares limited nanotechnology with them for medical uses.
Religion
While Polockistan does not have a national religion, 97% of its citizens are Jewish, including all Ministers with the exception of the Agrimin, and the government is known to be sympathetic to the plight of the Jewish people, and provide refuge for any Jews evicted from their homeland.
