Pschycotic Pschycos, The Imperial Shogunate of

A large nation located in the Imperial Armies region. Pschycotic Pschycos is also at the head of the obscure Earth Alliance, though only three nations have ever joined.

History

Starting out as the Rouge Nation of Pschycotic Pschycos, the nation was born after a bloody war with Derscon. The small band of rebels were led to victory under a man known only as General Kamikaze. General Kamikaze later went on to be the new nation's first Shogun. Since its indendence, Pschycotic Pschycos has grown rapidly, and has even reached out into space. Friendly ties have been reestablished with the Dersconi Government, and old wounds have indeed appeared to have healed. The nation was recently torn apart by a civil war of genetic engineering, but those wounds too have healed. Recently, it withdrew from Greater Prussia to reside in Imperial Armies under the leadership of Shogun Heero Yuy. However, the last shogun recently returned, and Psi-Pso was reinstated into Greater Prussia

Geography

Pschycotic Pschycos is a large, squarish nation. Contained in its heart is a vast Inland Sea, bordered to the west by the Shinotara Mountains, a gigantic range with only one pass through. Its eastern shore is protected by a massive sea wall measured at a hundred feet tall. Conecting the Inland Sea to the ocean is a series of five canals that were carved out over time. Off to the southeast are a small cluster of islands that were once part of the Japanese Islands. To the northeast is a large island with several satellite islands known as Neo-Pheonixia.

Political Boundaries

Pschycotic Pschycos claims territorial waters out to 50 nautical miles from its shoreline. These boundaries are enforced with a permermant minefield. Gaps to the east, north, and south permit commerical traffic, though with an Imperial air guard in the form of 2 Seahawk helicopters armed with 20mm gatling guns. Permermant patrols of the Coast Guard remain to monitor traffic. ABSOLUTELY NO MILITARY TRAFFIC IS ALLOWED WITHOUT EXPLICIT PERMISSION FROM THE SHOGUN.

Provinces:

Kanasagwa Forest

The entire western section beyond the Shinotara Mountain Range. This section is heavily wooded, and comprised of small villages that have maintained their look fom Ancient Japan. Dojos, shrines, and blacksmith forges are a common sight. Architecture follows the same Ancient Japanese theme. Villages have maintained the close to home feeling, and neighbors are extremely friendly to each other and to travelers. Hunting is an extremely popular pasttime, and the mountains are close by for skiing and snowboarding in the winter. It also boasts many serene and quite lakes that are perfect for fishing. People flock from all corners of the country for the fall colors. The climate allows for some rice growing.

Shinotara Mountains

This section is a verticle strip of land comprising of the lands stretched from between the Inland Sea and the Kanasagwa Forest. This province holds the Shinotara Mountain range, which consists of high peaks stretched in a line. A single pass connects Kanasagwa Forest to the rest of the country, though this can sometimes become blocked in the winter. Despite its seemingly hostile appearence, three major cities are located in the province, and almost all major ski resorts are here too.

Inland Sea

Though there are no active residents of this area, it is still considered a province as it takes up the entire middle of the country. It experiences its own tides, and has spawned one or two hurricanes in its history. The only land is an island located at the exact middle of the country. This island is forbidden except to those with the shogun's permission. It holds the tombs of the royal family, and is guarded by the White Guard, an elite branch who's member's service length extends past expiration of the body.

Lowchina Desert

This is the extreme south of the nation, below the Inland Sea. Though it has a mild climate at the shore, it becomes increasingly drier and hotter toward the border, where it becomes like the Sahara. Due to this, there are no major cities, though it does have a few retirement and gambling communities.

Honchia

The extreme north of the country. It stays mild in climate for quite a while, but becomes tundra toward the far border. The mild climate makes for nice corn and wheat farming, making agriculture its largest industry.

Honimishu

The capitol and largest city of the nation. This will be covered in detail later.

Eastland

The far east section. It experiences a marine climate due to the ocean nearby. It has forests and grasslands, which make for good farming and grazing. This is a general area.

Ancient Japanese Archipepalago

Location of Neo-Nagasaki, the naval headquarters. This one city takes up half of the main island. The other half is occupied by a volcano. The rest of the islands are occupied by small fishing villages. All the islands experience a semi-tropical climate.

Neo-Pheonixia

A small set of northern islands, with a large central one. These rely on fishing, and they have a mild climate. The main island even has a small mountain range that can support a ski resort for 3-4 months.

Cities:

Honimishu

The capitol. This city stretches 300 miles north to south along the eastern coast of the Inland Sea. Honimishu Castle, the capitol building is located toward the northern end. Midtown is occupied by hundreds of towers that are all over 100 stories tall. The rest of the city lowers as it spreads north and south, and takes on a more futuristic look (think Coresaunt of Star Wars). Rather than using a subway, V-22 Ossperys are used, using rooftops as terminals. This system has proved effective. This is the only city that has it's own defenses against ground assault in the form of dual-turret 30" cannons, in addition to AA and SAM emplacments.

Neo-Nagasaki

ICN Headquarters. The port occupies half the city. It has extensive naval defenses, but is a standard city.

Magma City

This is like ancient Italian cities in that it has canals running through it. But unlike ordinary canals, these channal magma through it. TO the north are several shield volcanos. These create a constant river of lava that splits to three rivers through the city. At night, a red glow prevails near the canals, and the reflections on the wall look like that of water, only red and orange. Naturally, it's the country's foremost city when it comes to Halloween.

Metro-City

This is a standard port city on the side of a mountain. Many bays and inlets probe into the city from the Inland Sea. The most noticible feature is the ski run from the most reknowned resort that runs through it, giving many work places and apartments "ski in, ski out" real estate, jacking up the land values.

Midnight City

A northern city that has another ski run through it. This is smaller, only having a few towers, but has a pleasant green-blue glow in the midnight moon, due to the snow of the surrounding mountains.

Culture

Pschycotic Pschycos shares a culture almost identical to that of the Ancient Japanese. Kimonos are a common sight, and the capitol building, Honimishu Castle, was built with the same style of architecture. Swords, Katana and Wakizashi, are common sights on the street, and the children of samurai (soldiers) are even permitted to carry them to school, though strict rules maintain order. The nation's youth enjoy punk rock, skateboarding, snowboarding, and popular team sports like football. The entire population is extremely patriotic.

Military

Standard Military comprising of 4 branches. Navy and Space Navy receiving the most funding. *Military runs law enforcment, and so these two budgets are mixed together*. Each of the ten "armies", consisting of one million fighting men each, resides in a province as law and order. The exception is Honimishu, which requires three due to it's urban size (96%).

Army

The army is comprised of 10 million men and women that do the actual fighting. It is subdivided by powers of ten down to ten men squads. Officers and leaders are not included in this number. Support and logistics, along with armor and armored cavalery are calculated differently.

Armored- 500 M1A2 tanks, along with a general assortment of APCs

Artillery- 500 units each of single barreled artillery and 16-shot rocket launchers.

Armored Cavalery- 100 AH-64D Longbow Apache fast attack helicopters

Logistics- Standard assortment of transport and supply.

Homeland army bases find protection in dual-turret 30" cannons.

Air Force

A small air force consists of 1500 F-14Z model fighters equipped for land-use, utilizing upgraded PHOENIX ATA missiles, dubbed "Firebird". 500 modified "EB-52" stealth bombers comprise the rest of the force.

Navy

The Navy receives the most funding of any branch, and is the only one that uses funding for development above and beyond maintence, like the others. The only naval base is the heavily defended ICN Headquarters, located at Neo-Nagasaki on the Ancient Japanese Archeipalago. Ships are as follows:

Zimmermann Battleship: 3 in-line aft and forward triple turrets of 20", standard superstructure, secondary guns, cruise missile capability.

Arkhangle Battlecarrier/Dreadnaught: Zimmermann frame fused with two carrier decks (port and aft).

Pices Battlesub: Submergeable Zimmermann frame with additional forward and aft torpedoes. lacks cruise missile capability, compensated with verticle facing torpedo tubes.

Island Dreadnaught/SDN: Central carrier deck with a Zimmermann frame fused to each side. Additional carrier deck on extreme port and starboard sides.

Aegis CIWS Defense Cruiser: Tri-marine ship with single 8 inch cannon, yet multiple 75mm CIWS batteries.

Honor Superdreadnaught: 4 in-line triple-turrets of 20" forward and aft. Forward and aft facing 20" to port and starboard of main line. Single triple turret of 20" atop superstructure.

Lionfish Fast Attack Sub: Self-explanitory.

Boomers: Self-explanitory.

FT Forces

RDF--makes use of Veritech Fighter 3-in-1. Fighter, battaloid (like mobile suit, but weaker), and half-half. Uses energy rifle (not OMG LAZOR!) and replenishing energy missiles. Used on Carriers in FT combat, as well as in FT army, and space forces.

No specific space forces yet.

Wars

-Conflict with Derscon- A second war with Derscon over a misinterpreted mixup. The war was brutal, almost turning nuclear. Peace was reached before this occured, though at the toll of the founder and hero, Shogun Kamikaze.

-War with Kaymiril- Its second war boiled down to more of a naval squirmish as the military, guided by foolish advisors, was lead to attack the socialist nation of Kaymiril. This war ended before any large losses were taken, though one of Kaymiril's princes was killed in the fighting.

-Genetic Civil War- A bloody civil war in which genocide was commited against genetically altered citizens. Order was eventually restored to the proper government.

Several other minor incedences have taken place, but a large scale war has yet to happen.

Government

The government of Pschycotic Pschycos is known as a Shogunate. It boils down to a militaristic dictatorship in which the leader, a shogun, solely leads the country, with some help from advisors. There is no congress or parliament, and as all previous shoguns have treated the general public with kindness and respect, no one has had a problem with this. The latest shogun is Himura Kenshin.

At the local level, samurai (high-ranking local military officials). They equatte to mayors of villages, with higher ranking ones in charge of towns, then cities, etc...Provicial leaders are Damiyo, very high military officers who report directly to the Shogun. This forms a very easy-to-follow chain of command. These military officials come from local militia, not active military. Damiyo are retired military, though still listened to.
