Rastabite Race
Rastabites – These are people native to Rastaban. They are fundamentally human. However due to long exposure to a race called the Guardians they have gain extra abilities or heightened senses. These abilities have been called categorized as magical. The Guardians taught six groups/tribes who were later named after their leaders. They are known in modern times as the Six Houses: Rastaban House, Tiamat House, Hashteher House, Anguis House, Draco House, and Azhdeha House.
Traditionally each house as it own ability it is known for. People in the Rastaban House are known for their exceptional strength and the ability to manipulate the certain elements. Tiamat House is known learn quickly and keep it and their ability to move objects with their mind. Hashteher House is known for their superior sea faring skills and their ability to sense the feelings of others. Anguis House is known for their keen senses and their great healing abilities. Draco House is known for their cunningness and their ability to see visions. Lastly the Azhdeha House is known for their agility and their ability to call upon spirits or beings.
In the past these abilities we common among the Houses, now with Rastabites intermarry with non-Rastabites these characteristics do not show up as often and in certain cases have diminished. Each child within Rastaban’s boarders (regardless of heritage or social status) is tested at the age of two-years to see if they have any of these magical aptitudes. If they are at their parents are offered, on behalf of their child, to attend one of Rastaban’s prestigious private schools for the magically gifted. If the parents aren’t able to pay the House from which they belong provides a full scholarship. These gifts are rare and very treasured within Rastaban.
Some people of note that have these are abilities are Queen Cora, Prince Daniel, and Prince Dranon. While they are of the Rastaban House their fathers were from Hashteher. They are very skill and highly trained empaths. With this ability they have even devised away to communicate with each other without actually speaking. Her Majesty and their Royal Highnesses have not shared any more details on this special form of communication. While one would think that their magical heritage is just from Hashteher they would be wrong. Queen Cora and Prince Daniel during the civil war both showed that they had inherited Rastaban House’s enhanced strength. It is unknown if Dranon has inherited this ability as he was spirited out of the country for his safety. Empress Cally of Athan (formerly Princess of Rastaban) is the youngest sibling of Her Majesty and it is known she is very cunning. She has showed no signs of having enhanced strength or an affinity to control the elements. Her father was of the Draco House (whom she gets her cunningness from) but she seems not to be able to see visions.
