The nation of Rlyeh Gofnn was founded in the year 2005CE by a large group of followers of the Cthuvian faith. These followers had fled from various nations around the world, due to many reasons but mostly to avoid religious persecution. Unofficially led by one of the founders of the Cthuvian faith, Karras Welesa, the Cthuvian refugees petitioned for a plot of land in The Exodus region, which was alotted soon thereafter. Shortly thereafter, Karras Welesa was elected as Chairperson of the Rlyeh Gofnn people. The stated goals of Rlyeh Gofnn claim the nation as a safe haven for the Cthuvian refugees, as well sanctuary for any people who feel themselves opressed.

While the state appears to be theocratic at first glance, the Cthuvian faith is especially tolerant of people from all walks of life and belief. Indeed, while 70% of the population is listed as Cthuvian, the remaining 30% represents a variety of religious pratices.

As of the composition of this article, the Rlyeh Gofnnian government has been pursuing left-wing policies, with extensive civil and political liberties for the citizens. However, due to what some argue to be a integraion of church and state, a number of anti-business laws have been set in place. Some argue the Rlyeh Gofannian economy has not been as hot as would be expected with the ammount of natural resources available to the nation.
