Safalra
This article refers to the player Safalra. For the nation, see The Fleeting Daydream Of Safalra
Safalra is the pseudonym of British computer scientist, erstwhile mathematician and occasional philosopher Stephen Morley. He prefers to be known by the pseudonym due to the existence of various other people called Stephen Morley (including a mathematics professor).
Safalra is generally active in the technical side of NationStates - in particular writing software for statistical analysis - but also takes part in the UN, writing the most successful UN resolution, Female Genital Mutilation, and roleplays on the offsite forum of the England region, hosting seasonal Equinox and Solstice celebrations.
NSDemographics
NSDemographics was the first program for complex statistical analysis of NationStates. It produced detailed reports on a specified region, including statistics for regional government spending and analysis of UN endorsements. It became popular with many nations, and was used to generate reports on The West Pacfic. After changes to the NationStates code after the move to Jolt, Myrth alerted Safalra to the fact that the software no longer functioned. Safalra has expressed his intention to update the software in the future, taking advantages of new features in Java 1.5 such as enumerations to dramatically reduce the volume of code.
