Origins

The Serene Republic of Sanctus Aequitas came into being when the explorer monk Jean-Timothé Iuvenis landed on the newly emergent volcano of Mt Arach and claimed the island in the name of his Lord, Jesus Christ and dedicated it to the dispensing to God's Holy Justice. The always continous eruption of the mountion caused the first community to be highly mobile but the extra land and fertile soil proved a blessing to them, allowing the importation and cultivation of many species of flora. The abundance these crops bestowed and the generous spirit with which they were given away to any who needed them gave Sanctus Aequitas a righteous reputation in the region and its shores soon began to accept its first true immigrants who sought a righting of their wrongs and food for their bellies.
