France needed to exploit with the rich upper-class of Segasaturn to keep everyone in line, so they decided to rig the referredum when it was held in 1964 - to make it seem that the Segasaturnian people did'nt want independence - but the truth was that there was a overwhelming vote for independence - but the votes were never counted.
