Skuzzsock is a spacefaring nation where 100% of it's citizens are in the military. The nation itself is actually located in orbit above the nation of A_B. It is infamous for declaring war over frivilous matters on small countries, as well as for executing UN surveyers in various ways.

Compulsory military service

All Skuzzsockers are in the military from birth all the way to the grave. Aspiring citizens who manage to survive Skuzzsock's "Who wants to be an immigrant" are automatically conscripted as they gain citizenship. This includes robots. However, people below the age of 15 and pregnant/nursing mothers are not allowed into combat, and are instead subject only to training. People ages 15-17 are never forced into combat, although most tend to volunteer.

This has led to some confusion as to what is and isn't a government official. Most Skuzzsockers accept the notion that officers are like the government and enlisted people are like civilians.

Libertarianism+Militarism?

Aside from the conscription requirement, there is very little economic or social regulation in Skuzzsock. As a result, they are still considered a "Benevolent Dictatorship" by the UN. Although this mostly fits, the frequent executions of UN surveyers by the Skuzzsockers has led some to believe the UN is just, "lucky guessing from the outside" as not many UN people are known to leave with their lives. This is made worse by the "Machine Elf" rankings. Someone, reportedly a Skuzzsocker, jokingly proclaimed the existence of a nation called "Machine--Elves" in "DMT space" . The UN then had some of its surveyers abuse DMT frequently to "rate" said nation. This greatly reduced the UN's credibility.

Prisonless Justice

Skuzzsockers regard prisons and police systems as innefficient and time consuming, especially since there aren't many laws on the books to begin with. Those caught murdering and raping are punished on the spot. Serial killers get tortured, petty theives are thrown out of the space station without a space suit, robbers and rapists are "cut off", beaten, then thrown outside the space station without a space suit. UN surveyers are executed in various ways, everything from being shot to being slowly lowered, feet first, into acid.

Life in Skuzzsock

Aside from compulsory military service, the laws in Skuzzsock are very similar to those in A_B. Although the legal differences are few, the existing ones seem aimed at making people better soldiers. The government usually does this by granting "civil rights" that allow people to take the law into their own hands making Skuzzsock somewhat anarchaic. With that, and with currency existing in Skuzzsock, life is radically different for Skuzzsockers than it is for A_Bians. There isn't an actual culture per say, but the typical Skuzzsocker owns a firearm and enjoys practicing with it. What type of firearm they own is largely dependant on the person. Some prefer lasers, others prefer the more sadistic types.

Financially however, Day to day life is typically very easy. The economy does well with military demand for everything boosting the industries and so there aren't many who starve to death on the streets from not having a job or being paid too little. In fact, those who do are typically either drug addicts, gambling addicts, or both.

Crime

Crime is problematic in Skuzzsock, thanks in part to the government. Bookies and debters frequently brawl in the streets. Hookers are often attacked for passing STDs. Door-to-door salesmen are often fried by laser fire for being an annoyance. Crack addicts are frequently killed for trying to hold up retail stores by pointing their fingers.

Indeed Skuzzsockers live choatic lives at times.

Skuzzsock weapons

No army would be complete without it's own weapons.

One of the more popular non-laser weapons is the Spec 2, which fires a chip that, when it gets inside a person, it slowly heats up until the body surrounding it evaporates. The rate at which it does this can be adjusted. For executions, it's usually 10 degrees farenheit an hour. For combat, it's more like 70 per minute.

Lasers come in varieties too. They vary in both color and effect. Heat based lasers are the more common, though electro distortion and radiation based ones are known to be used as well.

There are also experimental weapons such as the teleport gun. It's designed to teleport part of a living being off from the main body. However as of yet it's area of effect and destination of teleport are somewhat unpredictable making it dangerous to the user.

History

Formation

The first Skuzzsockers were actually A_Bians who signed up for the orbital defense. It is not known exactly when or why but at some point after being sent to the space station to gaurd the nation of A_B, they decided instead to form their own nation. Despite this, they were quite willing to form a diplomatic alliance with A_B, which they eventually did.

War of epic proportions

Skuzzsock was immediatly sucked into a wormhole where they encountered a strange planet within. Some Skuzzsockers explored the planet and found sentient beings living there. They called their planet "Fahl" and they called themselves "The Fahliens". Communications with them seemed odd at first as some could hear the fahiliens and others couldn't. It was later learned that this was due to their telepathic communications.

The Skuzzsockers, after socializing with the fahliens a bit informed them of their predicament. The fahliens possessed the technology to help them out of it and did so. When they returned, A_B's leader had a fantastic story to tell of what happened when they were gone.
