Solace Chamomile, also known as Tired Eyes in English speaking communities and as Schlafenblume in German speaking communities, is a low perennial plant native to the Solace Mountains. Though it grows all over the International Democratic Union, it is most commonly considered the national flower of Mikitivity, where it is a key ingredient in both Spice Melange and many other herbal medicines. The seeds need open soil to survive, so it is commonly found in mountain valleys and near creek beds or any cultivated fields where it grows as an invasive weed.

Appearance

The branched stem is erect and smooth. The plant will grow to a height between 15 and 55 cm, staying close to the warm ground and sources of water. The disc of the flower is yellow, while its petals are flat and white. The flowering time is in June and July. The flowers have a strong pleasing smell.

Habitat

The flower gets its name from its native habitat in the Solace Mountains. However, it has spread across most of the central continent of the International Democratic Union.

Though Solace Chamomile flowers are rather plain looking, their medicinal properties resulted in the plant being introduced into a number of other environments.

Social and Economic Significance

Solace Chamomile is used medicinally to ease sore stomachs and as a sleep aid. When mixed in Spice Melange, its gentle aroma helps to calm people down. It is usually hand picked, and then dried before the flower and petals are ground into a fine powder for mixing into drinks, food, or candy. Large doses of the dried and ground flower can counter act moderate stimulants, putting humans to sleep.

Small amounts of oil from the seeds of the flower are used in making many dishes in Mikitivity, the most notable is in the baking of Hartkeks.

In Baranxtu

Interestingly, the Solace Chamomile has gained much popularity in Baranxtu and also some significance in Ēmandē over the past few decades. The flower was first mentioned in Baranxtu in 1821, as being among the gifts sent by Baron Pohln of Mikitivity to the coronation of Queen Aŋlija. Once its medical properties became known in Baranxtu, the flower - called Sālesšamomila in Baranxeï - was soon common in the royal court as a sedative.

Today, it is among the most commonly used herbal remedies, which still have a quite large following in Baranxtu.

From Baranxtu, the Solace Chamomile has also spread to Cikoutimi since, where it is not so much regarded as a useful plant, but rather as a pest.

In Ceorana

Due to Ceorana's cool temperate climate climate and high latitude, at 45°N to 50°N, Solace Chamomile cannot be grown naturally. However, it can be grown in specialized geothermally-heated greenhouses that can sustain higher temperatures and simulate warmer climates than the outside. It is also imported.

Solace Chamomile is listed as a "General Medicinal Herb" (MH-G) by the Ceorana Office of Medicinal Substances, meaning that it is safe for private, unregulated use, although users should be wary of overdose and side effects. Solace Chamomile is also an ingredient in some manufactured medicines, such as some sleeping pills, and is a common ingredient in teas and health drinks.

In Bears Armed

Solace chamomile is widely used for medicinal purposes, both directly and in the form of honey made by bees that have been feeding primarily on this plant.
