History

South Nashville Station was founded by settlers from Nashville led by William Xavier. They followed the Cumberland River to its terminus establishing the city where the "river meet the 'cean," in the area now known as the Southern Lowlands at the spot where the Cumberland meets the Gulf of Shaharazia. It is often compared to other river delta cities such as New Orleans.

Cartesian-Praetoria Common War

The outbreak of war in neighboring Cartesian Praetoria brought a new role for South Nashville Station. Refugees began heading towards the city, long a popular destination for immigrants. As refugees began pouring across the border, South Nashville Station faced massive immigration on a scale they had never seen before. However, rather than turn them away, South Nashville Station native and South Nashville Governor Andy Jackson rose to the challenge famously declaring that "any displaced peoples, anywhere in the world, will always be welcome in South Nashville." Today a statue of Governor Jackson exists on the state Capitol grounds that bears this motto.

In addition to drawing people from all across the South Nashville, it is also a popular destination for those emigrating from their home coutries, notably refugees displaced from various wars in the world. While large influxes of immigrants at certain times have caused tensions in the past, the residents have generally accepted and integrated these new peoples and cultures into theirs.
