History

Spencer and Wellington officially came into existance on August 22, 1827. Before that Europe was a jumble of countless fiefs and holdings fighting in what has come to be known as the Deist Revolution.

The Catholic Church is largely to blame for the war. The conflict began in 1523 when Michael the Caller began preaching the Deist way of thinking. He attracted many followers and it threatened the supremacy of the Catholic Church in Europe. So the Pope declared a "holy crusade" on all Deists.

For three centuries of constant warfare, the Deist states did not cooperate with one another and chose to fight on their own against the united Church. This divisonary strategy came to an end in 1805 when King Spencer came to power in London and started to united the British Isles. He was successful in that by 1813.

King Spencer and his military advisor, General Wellington, then went on to unite the deist provinces of the mainland. France, Germany, and Spain signed the Confederation Pact of Europe with Britain in 1822 thus completing most of Specner and Wellington. The smaller deist nations of Portugal, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Low Countries became part of the Confederacy in 1823. The fighting continued for three more years until in brillian strategic victory General Wellington conquered northern Italy.

Faced with the possibility of a Deist Vatican, the Pope negotiated a peace treaty with the Confederacy and officially recognized it as a sovereign power. It was that very year that a vote was taken on the new nation's name and it was decided that it would be called Spencer and Wellington.

Today, Spencer and Wellington is an example of freedom and democracy throughout Europe.
