It is ruled by a Benevolent Emperor and a Senate in a complex but secure government system. The people of The Holy Empire are devoted unto death, each citizen is willing to die for their nations freedom. Spreag is currently NGPV's Delegate to the UN granting it a certian prestigious stance in the region.

History

The Holy Empire was founded by Lizer O’Malley within the first 500 years of the Catholic Church it is unclear the exact date. Lizer O’Malley set out to found the Holy Empire after receiving a personal blessing of the Pope. The Empire began as one city, The City of Kings, its current capital. As the City grew under Lizer’s administration the nations economy flourished causing an expansion into nearby lands setting up the second city of The Holy Empire, the port city of Spreag. This expansion of land and trade interfered with the nearby nation of Kindreg causing anger among their people and political leaders.

Kindreg’s Parliament gave the military orders to attack the port city of Spreag. The soldiers ran through the city burning buildings and slaughtering any resisters. They raped all the women and threw babies into the bay, then placed all women and children onto the ships in the port setting them on fire they let the ships drift out to the sea listening to the screams of the beaten and burning. All the men were bound and beaten forced to watch their women being raped and burned. They were then killed their bodies mutilated and strewn through out the burning city.

As soon as word of the vicious attack reached Lizer at the City of Kings he rushed with three hundred barely trained soldiers to the ruins of Spreag seeing the devastation wrought by the Kindreg soldiers Lizer and his loyal three hundred were filled with such anger that they immediately rode to the capital of Kindreg. Screaming the battle cry “Porro Ago Spreag” or “long live Spreag” these three hundred tore apart the defenses of Kindreg and devastated the parliament building taking each official prisoner, being held for trial of crimes against humanity. Lizer instated Imperial law in all of Kindreg’s five cities through this one victory.

The officials of kindreg’s parliament were found guilty of crimes against humanity and executed. Lizer never rebuilt the city of Spreag but he took its name for the country and took the sole survivor of Spreag, a four year old boy, under his wing and groomed him to take the Imperial chair after him. The people of Kindreg although at first afraid and unwilling to submit to the new government eventually cooperated and began to prosper even more than they had before. The people of Kindreg became some of the Empires most loyal Subjects. The three hundred soldiers who fought with Lizer were named the Spartan Guard due to their ferocious style of fighting and dedication to their emperor.

In the 1400’s Emperor Hinseas, just two years after he was appointed to the throne, was killed in a brutal coup. The senate looked the other way when offered riches and a greater say in government policy. They received neither, the man who instated himself Emperor, Fradwer, was a liar who merely wanted power and glory. He gained for himself power and infamy in the history of Spreag. Fradwer was the first and only emperor to not receive a papal blessing in his reign. The actions he took set the Empire up for a collapse that would take place 200 years later. He sold political positions to other countries delegates and set a standard that when followed caused a severe political decline. The power of Spreag was forgotten, washed away into the pockets of other nations. Fradwer was followed by a string of horrible appointments that lost all economic power as well.

It wasn’t until 1943 that the Holy Empire began to see the light. Emperor Tinori, an emperor as corrupt as any responsible for the death of thousands of his own citizens one day had an “vision” he felt a sudden remorse for all the things he had done but knew it was too late to change himself so he made it his lifes goal to find a successor who would be able to right all his wrongs. His search lead him back to the bloodline that had founded the empire. Lizer XVI was one of the most intelligent strongest soldiers in the military, coming from a now poor family living in the projects in Variet the capitol of the Province Ulis. Tinori took Lizer XVI into the Spartan guard and constantly asked his advice on issues and decisions. Although Tinori would not give up power he granted the appointment after his death to Lizer XVI who took up the throne in 2002 and is currently Holy Emperor and is making great strides to improve the nation.
