The United Socialist States of Sualia, founded in June 9, 2007 by Secretary Blubb, is a small, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate population of 16 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Public Transport, Education, and Social Equality. The average income tax rate is 41%, but much higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, followed by Gambling and Trout Farming industries.
All major public areas are watched by police surveillance cameras, high-income earners pay a 100% tax rate, organ donation rates have hit a new low, and meat-eating is frowned upon. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control. Sualia's national animal is the ant, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Su.
