The Empire of Tagran was founded by Viktoria Osterholt after the collapse of the Holy H'lan Empire. During the reign of the H'lan dynasty, Viktoria was a General of the Imperial Air Strike Force, but when she saw that the H'lan dynasty was losing favour with the people, she began recruiting other discontents for a coup. The rebellion began on August 9th, and after many months of bloody fighting, Viktoria took the throne on December 1st, and proclaimed that she was the Grand Empress of Tagran.
She has created a compulsory military service for all able-bodied people once they reach the age of 18, and has a large and powerful police force which helps keep crime under close check.
The eagle is the national animal of Tagran and can be seen perched atop the golden crown of the Empress.
