Yay basselopes!
I hate to rain on your parade, but antelope don't have antlers[1]. They have horns. Horns are an (almost always) non-branched permanent growth made out of keratin (similar to a human's fingernails or hair). Antlers are what are found on deer: they are a temporary structure made out of bone, grown out only during the mating season (after which they fall off). For a particularly fine example of horns, as on an antelope, see the Impala[2]. For an iconic example of antlers, as on a deer, see the Sika deer[3]. Iansisle 03:26, 27 October 2007 (GMT)
