Cooke Islanders are mostly of native Shoaru descent but there are a fair amount of Auranians, Shifreans, Cookboroughers, and Kennyians.

The only major city on the islands is Cookesburg, a fairly small metropolis of 20,000, which is also the seat of government. Cookesland is located on Maraca Island close to the center of the islands. The governor and the legislative buildings are all located in the city. Notable sights include the Twilight Terrace above the city, from where the view of one of the few volcanoes located within the United States can be seen. Another notable sight on the islands are the Sapphire Cliffs where real gems can be seen glimmering in the sunlight.
