History
The Echelon of Christ was founded by a small group of devout Christians, who were disappointed with the direction the world was currently heading. They were able to amass a military force powerful enough to break away from the Commune of People That Just Want to Feel Good; not that it was much of a battle. After this was accomplished the armed Christian Expeditionary Force set up borders and founded a Region known only by the obscure name of RedvsBlue. The group of self-appointed organizers of the rebellion all split off, and each took an equal number of footsoldiers and resources. What resulted was a tightly knit alliance in the region of RedvsBlue, although the region is not without conflict. The Echelon of Christ was the victor early on in several skirmish-like wars; this allowed it to control the only Uranium mining sector in all of RedvsBlue. The region has enjoyed many years of peace since the end of the Landgrab Conflicts. This is primarily due to the fact that the regions policies and exchange rates are set by a strong formal alliance between the two moral leaders of the Theocracy of The Echelon of Christ and the Armed Republic of YarenZero. Clandestine activities between these two nations are virtually impossible because of the embassy system between the two nations. This advanced intelligence measure is encouraged by both and allows each to always know what the other is doing. The alliance between these two encourages peace in the ever growing region. However, as new nations keep being added as a result of expansion, the possibility of conflict increases.
People
The people of The Echelon of Christ are a hard-nosed, devout group of people who have an undying faith in the Coming Kingdom. The people are free to enjoy all the benefits of capitalism with none of it's vices. Free trade is encouraged in the country and its benefits are taken advantage of. The income tax is a fair system that has flat taxation with no exemptions. However, a very understanding Revenue Service allows extensions of all kinds to be taken and the good, loving people of The Echelon band together if someone falls behind. Their idea is that if God did not leave any of them behind, they won't leave anyone else behind.
Military Personel
The military of the Echelon of Christ is a strong willed and highly conditioned fighting force with standards unparalleled in the entire region of RedvsBlue. The structure of the military is divided into Holy Armies and designated by a Greek character. The Holy Armies are then divided into Righteous Batallions which are then assigned another Greek character for a second designation. Righteous Batallions are made up of 1 million soldiers each and every 100,000 soldiers are considered a Glorious Echelon. The glorious Echelon commanders then divide their soldiers up based on faith and ability. Righteous Echelon 777 Special, official designation: Chi Rho 777, is the first into every battle and the last out. It is composed of the most experienced and specially trained soldiers. In addition to being the EoC's airborne special forces, Chi Rho 777 are the ministers of the Holy Army. They conduct spiritual leadership before every battle and all are ordained ministers of the Lord. These men are the most devout in all of the armed forces, in addition to pre-battle spirituality, they conduct the post-battle communion and last rites of both the enemy and their own fallen warriors.
Clergy
Back in the early years of the nation's history, the law was passed that Seminary was required as a post-secondary education for all students. As a result of this, every citizen is a potential clergy member, although it is highly competitive. Those who are not ordained as ministers become Jesuit teachers or employees of the Corporations that are native to the landscape. This heightened level of spirituality makes the nation more unified in the faith of a God and His benevolence. In addition to being morally strong, the Seminary has made crime drop to almost nothing.
