The Great Lexicon War

The Alliances and Cold War

PLTO was the first of the three alliances that would eventually war with each other. After an argument between the Ozian government and PLTO, Saint Oz left PLTO and formed LSP, with the stated purpose of destroying PLTO. MDP, the Mutual Defense Pact formed some time earlier, was openly allied with PLTO and another alliance, Pax Imperium, though MDP was secretly allied with LSP. Pax Imperium fell when most members defected to LSP or remained silent, with the exception of Marcica who, depsite claims of neutrality, openly helped PLTO with everything short of weapons. Finally, tensions between the two sides reached an all time high when an Ozian assassin shot the Pragmian president at a peace conference. LSP attacked PLTO's headquarters with a missile. PLTO responded the same and the situation spiraled downward.

The War

One by one, each PLTO nation fell to the combined forces of LSP and their revealed ally MDP. Yellowstone Valley was carpet bombed and occupied by Acle. Celtic Queen was invaded and occupied by Bustos. Marcica was eventually invaded by Bustian forces, and its eighteenth century tactics and army were no match for the Bustian forces. The colony surrendered to Bustian armed forces and would not regain its original rulers until the Baltijan Bloc ceded it to them. Tillia and Gallipoli-China, under threat of invasion, both left PLTO and joined MDP, though they did not take part in further offensives. Eluvatar was invaded and occupied by King Rat. Pragmia, after its occupation by King Rat eventually regained its independence by the end of the war after it became too much of an inconvienience for the occupying forces. Vulrikh was invaded by Malkaigan, which left PLTO and joined LSP, with aid from Ryazania. The G Rebellion was the only PLTO nation which had maintained genuine independance, and terminated the PLTO by signing the Twenty-one Convention. MDP and LSP had obtained a resounding victory, and PLTO was disolved, bringing an end to the war.

After the War

Borders were redefined by the war, as the Shadow Empire was able to take over a sizeable amount of land on a continent in the southwest. LSP was refomed as Validius Foedus not long after the war. Some PLTO nations certainly fared better than others, like The G Rebellion being nearly untouched while Yellowstone Valley and Vulrikh would take years to recover. Marcica remained in Bustian hands while the Myrorian Thalassocracy and the Myrorian Lexicon Company persued other land grabs, such as Guurith and Garthians. MDP collapsed after the war after increasing inactivity and resignation. Tillia is the only recognized member. The Bustian government also ceased to exist, allowing its land heir, the Baltijan Bloc, to return Marcica to Myroria. Myroria, realizing after losing a colony, eventually modernized its out of date military and continued landgrabs. After marriage to an Eluvataran, the Myrorian Empeuress formed the largest empire in Lexiconian by combining Eluvataran and Myrorian possessions.
