Overview
Background
- The Empire of The Lavender Menace is a large, economically powerful nation, notable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 40 million are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
The large, corrupt government is effectively ruled by the Department of Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Healthcare receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 15%. A healthy private sector is dominated by the Automobile Manufacturing industry.
Animal Liberationists are regularly jailed, voting is compulsory, a dictator has seized power and outlawed elections, and the right to free speech is being drastically curtailed. Crime is a serious problem. The Lavender Menace's national animal is the game cock and its currency is the gay dollar.
The Lavender Menace is ranked 111th in the region and 62,082nd in the world for Most Comprehensive Public Healthcare.:
