The Republic of The V O C is a nation that utilizes the principals of a "just war" which is a defensive policy towards wars and agression. This means that The Republic of The V O C will not attack an agressor unless certain criteria is met or a threat is eminent. The Republic of The V O C was created to resemble the Dutch East India Company in RL, but differs from the RL Dutch East India Company in it's actions and beleifs. Like the RL Dutch East India Company, The Rpublic of The V O C believes in trade, getting to know other nations and regions, and spreading the overall influence of its policies.
Histoy
Founded in May of 2006, The V O C tries its best to be inviting to any nation who wishes to enter the Haputation region, which this nation aslo founded. The V O C will not on the other hand tolerate those who compromise the security of the Haputation region or threaten it in some way; The V O C wishes for the Haputation region to remain peaceful and prosperous.
Nation Name Background
The V O C is a Dutch abbreviation that stands for Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie, known in English as The Dutch East India Company, which was a RL trading company which prospered from 1602 through 1798. Orignially The VOC whas what the founder would have choosen but the name already belonged to a previous nation so the next best possible choice for the founder
