The Ugandan Foothills is a small, ecenomicaly powerful nation found in the Scroll Islands region. Its is infamous for its capitalist views, terrible civil rights, no political freedom and ridiculous laws. Though only a new nation, The Ugandan Foothills has allready been faced with many problems. It has a uncontrollable amount of crime; nearly every house has a stolen TV, VCR or something similar. Many experts claim that, though only a new countyy, The Holy Republic of the Ugandan Foothills will soon crumble; due to its uncontollable crime, barren landscape, isolation and violent government.

Geography

The Ugandan Foothills is located on a small, formely uninhabited island 40 miles east of Brazil. Though its name suggests it to be part of Uganda, The Ugandan Foothills is nowhere near the country. Its name was infact aqquired when the leaders of the country drew several words out of a hat and put them together, hence, the country was named The Hold Republic of the Ugandan Foothills. With a total land area of 250,000 sq. km it is a small island given its population of 5 million. To an tourist, the island may seem vastly overcrowded, but most Ugandad Foothillers view this population density as normal, since the country is so remotely located. Because of this, the people of the island have developed an interesting feature within their infrastructure. Every building is on average ten stories. Major geographical features of the island include the Bile Desert, or "Deserto Della Bile" as its known in the native Italian. The desert has got this name from the ammount of dumped sewage and chemical waste that comes out of the large industrial cities on the island. The Ugandan Foothill's capital, Difettoso, is located in the exact centre of the island ontop a small mountain range. It is illigal for citizens to enter Difettoso, it is a secret city where the corporations and government make thier plans for the country. Other major cities include, Nuova Milano in the east, where nearly the whole population live. The island is mostly covered in city, though there are occasional forrests and parks, which are currently bieng destroyed to build more city. The only other part of the island which is not city is the Bile Desert, which is only not bieng built on because the land is inferitle.

Government

The Ugandan Foothills is either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which. There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of pro-business individuals concentrates mainly on Commerce & Defence, citizens are secondary priorities. Income tax is often more than half of a persons actual income. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Pizza Delivery, Basket Weaving, and Book Publishing industries. Elections have been outlawed in The Ugandan Foothills, the current leadership stresses that it is for the good of the people, though it is hard to see how.

History

The history of The Holy Republic of the Ugandan Foothills began only 400 years ago when an Italian trading fleet, known as "Nave Grande," was blown severely off course while going to the far east. All Ugandan Foothillers are decended from the crew of this fleet. Since that time the island has experienced a great deal of political turmoil. The first coup detat in the islands history occured when Fabien DiCrenzo led a mutiny against the captain of the "Nave Grande," Marco Giovanni, within a few hours of their arrival to the island.

More recently, the political atmosphere has been fairly calm for the last thirty years, because of the aririval of the Corporations who took over the countires fragile government. The story of how the Corporations came to power is truly unique, but has been erased from all records. Though the political atmosphere has calmed down, there is still large ammounts of crime and violence between citizens.
