The Federation of Thule and Hjaltland was founded in April 2006. It resides in Arctic, and is a very active and contributal member to the Arctic Community and a budding member of the United Nations.
Thule and Hjaltland is, in terms of area, is consistent of the whole Icelandic landmass, plus Jan Mayen, Svalbard, The Faroes and Shetland.
Bilingualism
Despite being a nation of overwhelmingly Thulhjaltic speakers, the canny population realise the importance of English in international markets, and thus the State is officially bilingual.
Thulhjaltic as a foreign language
Prussiatopia is teaching Thulhjaltic at up to an Upper Secondary level around all schools in the country. To be concidered literate, being able to write basic sentence communicating personal matters (I.e. your life, your location of residence, your NAME, etc) in this language is now essential. We're concidering making it a Foundation Degree subject in Prussiatopia (this is equivelent to an Apprentance Degree), the language is always printed on Signs and Adverts.
National Day
National Day falls on 4th April and is celebrated each year alternately in the two capitals of Lervik a Hjaltlandi and Egjilsstad a Thule with children's processions, banquets, Wagner and fireworks.
