The Kingdom of Truex is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.004 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Social Equality. The average income tax rate is 71%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.
Corporations cut costs by taking away safety-features on their products, graffiti graces every city's streets, people who are terrified of needles are torn between their phobia and free health care, and the people elect the Supreme Court justices directly. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem. Truex's national animal is the Beagle, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Truex Dollar.
