The Federation of United Earth Sphere is a massive, safe nation, notable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Equality, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.
As of December 28 CE 73, the Aube Union became a permenant member of the United Earth Sphere, expanding the number of member states to 5.

Economy
The UES is one of the largest and most technologically powerful economies in the United Republic. In this market-oriented economy, private individuals and business firms make most of the decisions, and the federal and state governments buy needed goods and services predominantly in the private marketplace. UES business firms enjoy considerably greater flexibility than their counterparts in decisions to expand capital plant, to lay off surplus workers, and to develop new products. At the same time, they face higher barriers to entry in their rivals' home markets than the barriers to entry of foreign firms in UES markets. UES firms are at or near the forefront in technological advances.
Major industries include information technology, biotechnology, chemicals, telecommunication, consumer goods, aerospace, tourism, military, energy production & refinement, services, finance, and weapons development.
Communications
A highly developed, technologically advanced, multipurpose communications system that uses 4th generation fiber-optic cable, holographic data transfer, microwave radio relay, and domestic satellites carrying every form of communications traffic. An extensive cellular communications network serves the mainland and island territories.
Productive Location Ally on Nexus Technology
Due to the limited land space open for agricultural use, the UES developed a next generation space colony with the goal of providing agricultural and industrial productions. As their name suggests, the PLANTs were created to serve as research and manufacturing sites, but their unique design also enables them to recreate a lush natural environment, with abundant vegetation and open water.
These hourglass-style structures consist of two disc-shaped living areas, each ten kilometers in diameter, which rotate around a central hub to produce artificial gravity. Each living area is anchored to the hub by a 30-kilometer central shaft and a network of high-tension strings, and a high-speed elevator runs up the central shaft to provide access to the hub. A set of external mirrors, attached to the central hub, are used to reflect sunlight into the inner surfaces of the living areas.
Military
In C.E. 73, the UESSDF underwent a massive upgrade of all units with the inclusion of state-of-the-art designs and technologies. The upgrades had in mind future technology development and allow ample room for future retrofits and upgrades.
The main stay of the military is the mobile suit. Mobile suits are generally humanoid in shape with two upper torso limbs and two lower torso limbs. The primary advantage of mobile suits lies in their versatility and requirement of a single pilot.
