As the lifestyle collapsed, Unity in Gaia fell apart, and no longer exists.

The only nation in the Winds of Change region, Unity in Gaia holds to the aspirations that led to the formation of the region. Ultimate sucess is atained when all minds are freed and a new reality... a gaia takes over.

History

In 2010, with the world in decline, six people decided to step up and make a change for the better. These six people challenged the status quo of a two parent, two kid, dad goes off to work household. Armed with what they could muster while paying back student loans, they rented a large apartment, modified it to handle a six person load, and began the greatest social expariment since Sparta.

Both advantages and disadvantages blatently apparent, the appartment of six began working out the details of a life shared amongst a commune. Once as many of the disadvantages of the system were worked out as possible, the appartment of six declared their intentions of building the first root of a gaia - a house of many living as one. Of those around, 21 stepped forward to join. The first house was built, centering around unity. Gone were the needs for a bedroom for every person, one communal bedroom served that purpose. Gone were the need to form small virtually self sufficient pairings, the entire community thrived through itself.

Two generations of this life extended the house, eventually building a second one nearby. At this time, Founder Franco Rusellini stepped forward. A small nation, formed by the fragmentation of one of the king capitalist regimes, formally requested that one of the houses move to what was then Anksalia, and teach them the new way of life. The younger of the two houses was moved to the new nation, and a tremendous civil reconfiguration was put into motion. Immediatly apparent was the lack of enthusiasm in the cause. As more laws were passed guiding citizens towards the new way of thinking, emmigration to nearby countries became quite pronounced.

By the time the civil reconfiguration was complete, Anksalia had dwindled from a massive capitalist spawn into a meger economy of food production with a population of under three million. At this point, four major section had formed. Human nature interveined, and fracturing occured as the fish farmers of the north could not identify with the steel industry of the south. Issues of rainwater usage further split the nation.

Historians are often confused by this time period. The differences between the peoples were quite minor in comparason to those that drive other nations apart. Those outside the nation often could not tell the difference, but a citizen of the nation could tell you which side a member was from, without even looking at them. This sort of proto-gaia is one of the quirks that is studied to this day.
