The NASCAR Dominated SuperState of VMCountry is a massive, devout nation, renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population is ruled without fear or favor by a corrupt dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "human resoruces"
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Religion & Spirituality and Law & Order are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 100% and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Uranium Mining.
The roads are notorious throughout the region for their peril, all writing must pass a censorship board before being allowed on the shelves, the religious lobby has the power of veto over health initiatives, and torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. VMCountry's national animal is the NASCAR Driver, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the NASCAR.
