Vasconian Indians are the peoples inhabiting Vasconia prior to European colonization in the early 15th century as well as modern ethnic and cultural groups descended from those early inhabitants in whole or in part.

According to current scientific theory, human beings did not evolve in any part of Vasconia. Instead, they migrated to Vasconia, some across a landbridge from Asia during the last Ice Age and others in primitive boats from islands in the Pacific. The first Vasconian Indians probably arrived over 16,000 years ago, spreading and diversifying into literally hundreds of distinct cultures and nations.

Many Vasconian Indians maintained a nomadic or semi-nomadic lifestyle until very recently. However, others settled in permanent agricultural communities, organizing themselves into chiefdom polities, gerantocracies or democratic communes. In the southern part of the continent, some Vasconian Indians even built complex, state level societies including monumental architecture and large cities. Estimates of the Vasconian Indian population at the time of European contact range from 1 to 12 million.

Smallpox, typhus, influenza, diphtheria and measles were all brought to Vasconia by Europeans, decimating native populations. Today, less than 10% of the total population of Vasconia identify as wholly or partly Vasconian Indian.
