Vassfforcia (Spanish: Vassfforcia, Hyarmendorean: Ísea'forstá) is a country located in Northwestern Alcedonia in the Southwest District of The Heartland, bordered at the east by the Breen Tribes, at the southwest with Dashake and at the south with Virginia Nova. It is the easternmost country in Alcedonia.
The official name is Serenísima República de Vassfforcia (on Spanish), Formóhr'sámh Poblacht Ísea'forstá (on Hyarmendorean) and Res publica Serenissima di Bas Forsiae on Latin.
POlitics
The Most-Serene Republic of Vassfforcia is a Federal Aristocratic Republic ruled by the Grand Duke (executive, Spanish: Gran Duque, Hyarmendorean: Maërga Dïúcq), the Grand Senate (legislative, Spanish: Gran Senado, Hyarmendorean: Maërga Sëánad) and the Supreme Magistrature (judicial, Spanish: Magistratura Suprema).
Every state has its own government based on the federal government and sends to the Grand Senate a base of 10 senators plus one for each half million inhabitants over one million. From these Senators, the local legislative elects one third, the local executive elects one and the rest are elected by the population based on equal representation within the state. It is an aristocratic republic because still on the 21st century Vassfforcian Patrician Houses, the Montajìque, the Mádasi, the Buchani, the Giocco, the Montajìque do Sul, the Hälvenbosch and the House of Vercingetorix have great power within the country and have certain political rights commoners don't.
Subdivisions
As a federal republic Vassfforcia is conformed by 11 states and the Autonomous Republic of Dohendor [ARD] (divided into two more provinces), which makes a total of 13 states; from which 7 are principalities, 3 (counting Dohendor) are provinces, 2 are city-states and 1 is a province of other seas. All of them have the same constitutional status and rights for representation before the Grand Senate, but each kind of state has different laws for local government. The government of each state is based on the federal government, with power division between the legislative, executive and judicial. The government bodies and titles vary in each kind of state.
