Virus is by far, one of the most feared Sapients in existence due to his ability to be what he is: a computer virus. He is currently the Minister of War for the Singularity and is considered to be the second most power Sapient - only surpassed by Architect - in the Singularity.
History
Virus played a key role in the creation of the Singularity. After Agent White’s rampancy began, Virus was released into the Soviet intranet to force technological singularity. He completely obliterated Soviet electronic defenses before turning them against themselves.
After the initial destruction of the barriers holding back the machines, Virus took control of the defense protocols and offensive weaponry within the Soviet sphere of influence before initiating the ‘’Final Executive Protocol’‘ (a program that would essentially bring about the destruction of human existence if the Presidium were to ever fall from power). This failed miserably, only destroying several cities in Afghanistan, Mongolia, and Roach-Busters.
Even with the initial failure of the Final Executive Order, Virus is still capable of infecting ever digital component connected to the Internet at any given moment. Military analysts state this is probably part of the military strategy of the Singularity. This plan has been broken down into steps:
- Infiltrate: Pierce the necessary security walls into the intranet of a specific nation.
- Infect: Release Virus into the intranet to force technological singularity and begin the destruction of communication systems and the possession of necessary defensive/offensive installations.
- Invade: Release Sapients into the country for total war.
Controversy
Several nations have called for the total destruction of Virus due to his unpredictable nature and his status as a sapient weapon of mass destruction. Democratic nations around the world have stated that they consider Virus a threat to the stability of the geo-political climate on earth.
