Wai Shan Tao Summary

The Rogue Nation of Wai Shan Tao is a huge, safe nation, notable for its burgeoning lion population. Its compassionate population of 236 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked morass -- juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Social Equality, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 38%, but much higher for the wealthy. A robust private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Door-to-door Insurance Sales and Retail.

Several citizens have complained about scientists abducting their pets for experimentation, councils up and down the country wrangle over legal matters, all-natural foods are becoming a major fad, and there have been a series of riots between local cannibals and health food advocates. Crime is well under control, thanks to a well-funded police force. Wai Shan Tao's national animal is the lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the tai.

The Origin of Wai Shan Tao

Wai Shan Tao was a nation created under the leader named John Hearst I. John Hearst's goal was to create a nation which opened it's eyes to different cultures, while still looking out for their way of life. In 2005, he acheived this goal. He named it Wai Shan Tao because of his cousin who fought in the Pacific War, Waishan Tao Hearst. The day he founded it was called "The Independence Day", which is celebrated on August 16th. Although this was not the day when they founded it, they did celebrate this day on August 16th at the capital, Hearst City in the state of Hearst. On the first Independence Day, John Hearst I was assasinated by a man hired by the Great Nation Invaders goverment. Thus started the "Invasion War" between Wai Shan Tao and Great Nation Invaders. So far, John Hearst II has taken command.
