Youth and Schooling

Wensicia Hedikai, born to Ethelas and Víre Hedikai in Anoriath, Dorthonion. She is the second of youngest child; three elder brothers and one youngerr Ethelas, Miklós, and , Adoryán respectively. As a young girl, Wensicia attended the Anoriath School for Young Women there she grew a great interest in reading and writing. Her teachers said that by age eight she had a reading level of a college freshman and was placed in special classes for the gifted. When her father died in 1966 when she was ten her mother became depressed and manic, Wencisia then took command of the household and would ensure that her younger brother Adoryán was fed, went to school on time, was put to sleep, etc. She remained in Anoriath until University studies were she was accepted into the University of Imladris. Unfortunately, however, do to the outbreak of the Civil War and the suicide of her eldest brother Ethelas, Víre insisted that Wensicia stayed in Dorthonion, far in the north and relatively unaffected by the war. She attended the College of Psychology in Anoriath. She also signed into the Daughters of Dorthonion, a very exclusive sorority, by her junior year she was elected Kiltias of Dorthonion, otherwise known as president of the sorority. In 1981, Wenscia graduated from graduate school with a doctorate in psychology. While attending College of Psychology she met a handsome artisan named Orophirin working at the local pub that she often went to on her spare time.

After a few weeks and after she quietly psycho analyzed him to herself, she asked him on a date and after a few years of dating the two married in Anoriath. Wensicia used her families influence to secure him a place on the Council of the Workers’ Prosperity of Dorthonion, a legalized union of sorts for workers in the northern provinces of Tomania. Thus far she has had three children with Orophirin, one boy, Inglor, and two daughters, Itarildë and Vanarwen.

Minster for Popular Enlightenment

When Miklós Lord Hedikai became Supreme Cordon and Executor he set up the Ministry for Popular Enlightenment and Propaganda (Arandurie o Lieryai Calacarëstima ar Tanpaluvarie). He asked his sister Wensicia to become Minister (Arandurë) however she declined. He would ask two more times before demanding that she “graciously” take the post Wensicia conceded and left Anortiath for Imladris to assume her post as Minister for Popular Enlightenment.

However, to her great surprise she soon became enamored with her duties as Propaganda minister and began employing techniques she had come up with during her thesis in college. Her tactics and understanding of the Tomanian mind has proven most beneficial for the Marduuk regime. They have inspired fierce loyalty to both the crown and Marduuk.

The Propaganda Ministry used many mediums to further the Madruuk message and maintain control over the people. Posters, newspapers, publishing and arts were all used and explicitly controlled by the Ministry.

Speeches were also used to great effect by the Tomanian Imperial Government. Wensicia commented on Hedikai’s first speech as Executor: "It will have great propaganda value...be used and viewed in cinemas for years to come...what an achievement." Wensicia introduced Lord Hedikai before a speech and used the opportunity to highlight the importance of Propaganda. "It seems you cannot have a good government without good propaganda, but then, you can't have good propaganda without a good government. However, you cannot lie! We must never lie! It is the Ardatomani who must be made to pay for their lies to our people!”

“The Great Enlightenment”

Dr. Wensicia Hedikai, began the Great Enlightenment, a program to "ensure the security, the prosperity of the Empire, to safeguard our High Culture and for the growth of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding."

The way this was set up is that all citizens of the Empire were given large flatscreen televisions to place in their houses known as a ‘telescreen’: at any time the government may turn on the telescreen and display a message to the people. Also, large telescreens were placed on buildings inside and out, and public loudspeakers were put on streets. Music sometimes is played during the day to lighten the mood of the general populace. People were given more rations and productivity was raised. If Six year Plans were completed on time, the Ministry for Popular Enlightenment would reward the people with more gifts and more time off. Since the “Great Englightenment” the economy of the Empire has greatly increased, crime has become almost non existent, the general happiness of the populace is at a high, and loyalty has remained absolute.
