Quotes

"Fellow Tomanians,
I come to you in the wake of recent events to issue a call to reason.
Let no Tomar deny the perils of our time
While we battle one another,
divided be the petty strife of our common history
The tide of greater conflict is turning against us.
Threatening to destroy all that we have accomplished.
It is time for us as nations and as individuals
to set aside our long-standing feuds and unite.
The tides of an unwinnable war are upon us
and we must seek refuge on higher ground
lest we be swept away by the flood.
The Ardatomani are no more;
whatever semblance of unity and protection it once provided is a phantom...a memory.
With our enemies left unchecked, who will you turn to for protection?
The devastation wrought by the civil war is self-evident.
We have seen our homes and villages destroyed by the calculated blows of our enemies.
We have seen first hand our friends and loved ones consumed by the nightmares of chaos.
Unprecedented and unimaginable though they may be, these are the signs of our time.
The time has come my fellow Tomar to rally to a new banner
'In unity lies strength; already many of the dissident factions have joined us
Out of the many we shall forge an indivisible whole capitulating only to a single throne.
And from that throne I shall watch over you.
From this day forward let no Tomanian make war upon any other Tomanian,
Let no agency conspire against this new beginning.
And let no man consort with alien powers...
and to all the enemies of the Empire seek not to bar our way,
For we shall win through, no matter the cost."
-Hedikai's Inauguration Speech as Supreme Cordon

"Eternity is ours!! There, lying before us!!"
-Hediaki, 21 March 1972

"We will not capitulate - no, never! We may be destroyed, but if we are, we shall drag a world with us - a world in flames."
-Hedikai, 28 April 1973

We mustn’t be ripples in the ocean of time that slowly fade away into nothingness. We must make for ourselves a great typhoon to forever shake the foundations of history!
-Hediaki, 29 September 1978

Other nations use force; we Tomar alone use Might.
-Hedikai, 5 August 1982

"An empire built on power cannot attract the affections and loyalty that men bestow willingly on a regime of ideas and beauty. Adorn your Grand Empire with beauty, with culture."
-Hedikai, unkown date, apparently said to the empress Ishtar

"Good government seldom depends upon laws, but upon the personal qualities of those who govern. The machinery of government is always subordinate to the will of those who administer that machinery. The most important element of government, therefore, is the method of choosing leaders."
-Hedikai, to the Central Imperial Committee

"Nationalism is having the ego to know that from all the countries under Heaven that you could have been born in, you have the honor to be born into the one that is perfect in every way possible.”
-Hedikai, unkown date, said to the Young Marduuk League

A Short Biography

Víre and Ethelas

Miklós Lord Hedikai, born to Ethelas and Víre Hedikai in Anoriath, Dorthonion. He is the second of four, one older brother and a younger sister and brother, Ethelas, Adoryán, and Wensicia respectively. At the age of ten he was sent to an elitist school, the Manwe Sullimo Imperial Academy for Higher Learning in the capital. There he befriended Maedhros Haldir, the eldest son of a very power family. He graduated from the Academy with high marks and honors. After graduation he joined the former Ardatomani party and went on to University study.

While in University, he befriended many sons of powerful and influential families, however, the House of Haldir was one of the most powerful families in Tomania, and which would prove to be very beneficial in the Marduuk revolution. He also gained much support in local pubs and cafes and soon the whole of the working class supported his coup d’etat. Unfortunately for him, it was foiled and Hedikai was sent prison for life. Luckily, all political poisoners were granted clemency from the emperor.

In early March of 1972 the Ardatomani government collapses from internal abuse and corruption, many anti-Ardatomani and neo-Ardatomani factions broke out into a multi-sided Civil War. Hediaki and his followers created the Marduuk, and with the financial backing of the Haldir family and the military assets that came with the name, the Marduuk became a force that was not taken lightly. The Haldir family went bankrupt from this act, however, their House was greatly rewarded after the Marduuk victory.

Lord Hedikai, the day of his ascension to the office of Supreme Cordon, 17 May 1977

After a very bloody, destructive, and chaotic war the Marduuk forces soon claimed victory over Tomania in 1977. To prove that the Marduuk were truly in Heaven’s grace they quickly began to rebuild the empire and bring the dream of security, peace, prosperity, and tranquility.

In late 1978 Gavleborg-Uppsala declared war on Tomania to “protect Catholic Exterro” because of Tomania’s strong anti-Christian beliefs and for the mass genocide of the Christian missionaries Gavleborg believed that is was their “duty” to stop Tomania. However, they gravely underestimated the capabilities of the Marduuk regime and their efficiency in rebuilding Tomania’s war torn industry. Also, they did not realize by invading Tomania and declaring it a Crusade to “Christianize” the Tomanian empire, a wave of zealous patriotism engulfed Tomania and the whole of the Empire stood behind the Marduuk and within three months Tomanian troops marched into Ljusdal, the capital of Gavleborg. The Three Month War proved to be one of the greatest triumphs for the Marduuk and Hedikai forever secured his Party’s place in Tomanian leadership.

Thus far in his reign as Supreme Cordon and Executor he has brought Tomania into a Golden Age of Prosperity, Culture, and Might. He has secured Tomania’s borders with the historic signing of the Iron Alliance with neighboring country, the grand Dominion of Morindira. He was entered into six wars and been victories in each: the Civil War, the Three Months War, Isolian Conflict, the liberation of Acranania, the Isenha-Raad Affair, and defending Tomania’s outlying colony of Elenarin.

Hedikai is seen as “the Father of Tomania” because his entire life as been for the betterment of his people. Though he and his party reign absolute over Tomania, Hediaki is seen as a benevolent leader who, unlike his predecessors, cares about his people and in turn he has the adoration and love of the populace.
