BOBSLEIGH


2 MAN MEN—Roger Stoddard and Peter Tarff; with the assistance of a Jeff Jordan-designed bob these two are looking genuine medal candidates, having won a World Championship qualifying race. Motor racing tech and skill comes to the bob. (.7)


2 MAN WOMEN—Divina Welsh and Ellie Lombard; in the nascent women's bob event this pairing, apart from stealing the hearts of all men who know them, are favourites for the gold. (.75)


4 MAN MEN—Scott Stoddard, Frank Curtis, Clem Bland and Gene Salisbury; keeping it in the family and another set of possible medallers. (.7)


SKELETON


INDIVIDUAL MEN—led by the Duke of Howe, the three-man team (Eddie Hindmarsh and Bill "The Wolf" Barnard being the others) will be looking for at least one medal between them. (.72, .5, .7)


INDIVIDUAL WOMEN—Dee Guest (.72), Liz Jenks (.7) and Violette Austin (.5) will also be seeking podium spots. Austin is a genuine find, at only 15 years old and braver than brave, but erratic.
