Usage

Typical example of a Nuclear Wessel

The word 'wessel' is used in reference to a 'vessel', usually a naval ship. It is a typo, although it did not begin as such.

History

Originally used in the movie "Star Trek IV", where Commander Chekov walked the streets of San Fransisco asking 'where the nuclear wessels were.' Also used in the TV cartoon series 'Futurama' by the same series.

In NationStates, the usage started when a Whyatican fleet sent a message to a Willinkian fleet where the word 'vessel' was typoed as 'wessel'. This became a running gag and was used by Whyatica for several other posts.
