Introduction

The Shadows of Z'Ha'Dum are an ancient, space-faring race of considerable ruthlessness, just now beginning to (Slowly) increase their activities, again.

Population

Unknown. The population is based on

  1. Shadows: They are rarely seen, as they prefer to be invisible to others, operating in The Shadows (Hence the name). They are usually featuring a black (When visible), insectoid Exoskeleton, although this is actual only a kind of Encounter Suit, with their actual, physical appearance being that of tiny blobs of light (It should be noted that despite looking ike energy beings, the Shadows still have a physical part). The Shadows are strong Telepaths, although they are not as strong as the Vorlons
  2. Drakh: Just like the Shadows, Drakh are rarely seen, possessing cloaking technology. They are entirely physical, looking somewhat Reptilian, and are connected in the Entire, which can be described as a hivemind that retains its members' individuality. They are also considerably strong telekinetics, they are, however, unable to read, or even manipulate, a mind.
  3. Others: Other groups include some rarer alien races, as well as the race- unspecific Technomages.

Believes

Like the Vorlons, the Shadows believe that they are supposed to teach the younger races (While casually ignoring that there are actually older and more powerful races than both them and the Vorlons around).

However, unlike the Vorlons, the Shadows believe in Chaos, rather than order. The competition of everyone against everyone else is supposed to remove the weak in favour of the strong, thus allowing the accelerated evolution of the younger races.

Following this 'Ideology of Selfishness', it is only natural that the Shadows eventually ended up in an ideological conflict wih the Vorlons.

Foreign Relations

  1. Vorlon Prime: The primary opponent in the conflict of ideologies. After winning the last war against the Vorlons, The Shadows developed a mixture of pity and hope (For the Vorons to finally embrace the Shadow teachings) for the Vorlons, secure in their knowledge that since the end of the last war, the galaxy has been a slaughterhouse, allowing for the Shadows' ideology to spread like a wildfire.
  2. Formerly United Indiastan: A long-time ally of the Shadows, but eventually, United Indiastan failed to fulfill the expectations the Shadows had in it, and eventually turned against the Shadows, with the Shadow retribution destroying a good portion of the Indiastani fleet. Following this, United Indiastan dissolved.
  3. Sketch:Sketch is seen as a possible ally, although the shadows are acting very slowly in creating a first contact.
