The Free Land of Saminorr is a medium formerly isolationist country located on the north of the Asshat Sea, in the Meritocracy. It is bordered by Bumpivania on the south east, the Asshat Sea in the south, and uninhabited wilderness in other directions. Due to its low population density, especially in the central plateau and far east, Saminorr is known as a peaceful, quiet and beautiful country. At the same time its large metropolises, especially Saminirik, are known for their wild night-life and excessive drug use. Saminorr is a founding member of SATO (Sea of Asshats Treaty Organisation), a member of MNM (Meritocratic Nations for Marijuana), and has a Senatorship in The Meritocracy.

History

Ancient History

Saminorr has been inhabited by various hunter-gatherer tribes for thousands of years, notably the Saminirik, Inuit, Kiriki and Nunuquat tribes. Agriculture was developed in these four tribes as early as 300 BC and late as a 600 AD, and independently from neighboring cultures. Around 1000 AD cities started to develop, centered around the Asshat Sea and Lake Kiriki, which provided sources of nutrition and transportation.

With these cities came complicated cultures and sophisticated societies. The Saminirik culture especially  was very successful, trading with various other groups around the Asshat Sea and establishing trading outposts all over the area. Their cultural influence can still be seen today on islands which do not even belong to the nation of Saminorr.

Very few wars were recorded between the four cultures; they respected each other as People of the Snows and shared many aspects of their cultures. Except for a few instances of isolated pillaging, there was peace in the area for hundreds of years, and the cultures flourished.
