The Free Land of Chainbreaker
The Free Land of Chainbreaker is an island off the coast of the Texas Region. The Free Land of Chainbreaker is a large, socially progressive nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 23 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 22%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Pizza Delivery, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Book Publishing industries.
All tariffs have been abolished, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, minority children spend hours bussing to schools miles away from home, and a niche industry catering to S&M enthusiasts has sprung up. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low. Chainbreaker's national animal is the Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Link.
Chainbreaker and the United Nations
Chainbreaker became a UN nation shortly after the election of President Chain. President Chain belives strongly in nation's rights and often votes against policies that take them away.
The Last Line
The Last Line is Chainbreaker's elite regiment of snipers. Last Line Snipers are carefully selected from Chainbreak's military. There is no application process, Lineman must be invited to try for a position. From there they go through a difficult school for one year before they become Last Lineman. Last Lineman remain in the Regiment until they retire. They recive high amounts of urban warfare, demolition, marksmenship, survival, and weapons training.
The Last Line is comprised of two battalions. First Batt is in charge of defending the capital at all costs. Second Batt takes assignments as part of the Texas Defence Force.
The Last Line uses highly specilized rifles, custom made to each Lineman. It is rumored that some rifles can even pick off targerts up to five miles away.
Last Line Arms
As the Last Lineman started to retire early in the nations history, they saw the need for better equipment. To this end, Last Line Arms was created. The Last Line keeps Chainbreak's military with the lastest and greatest equipment. They recently began selling this equipment to other TDF nations.
