Alexander IX (Alexander Paul Billopec, born 25th December 1941) was a Prince of Billopesha, otherwise known as the ‘Fugitive Prince’, who is the brother of Grand Lord Richard VI of Billopesha and son of George V of Billopesha. He was wanted for treason for trying to claim the throne by force for unfounded reasons from Richard VI and was then missing for 29 years. It was in 2007 when he reappeared during the Billopeshian Civil War and took over from Max Trotter as leader of the Imperialist Party. He lead the party into the Imperial Revolution where he managed to take over the country, restore the monarchy and become Grand Lord of Billopesha. This was short-lived as after only a month, the government raided the Lord's Palace and arrested Alexander for high treason.
Whether he can be officially be classified as a monarch of Billopesha is debatable. He was theoretically a usurper as he wasn't the heir to the throne but who was the heir to the throne was also debatable due to Richard VI's unforced abdication. It could be said he had a right to the throne as he was the one who restored the monarchy; it wouldn't have been done otherwise. But his reign was the shortest in Billopeshian history with only 3 months, 6 days of being monarch and Richard VI still held the titular title of Grand Lord of Billopesha.
Early Life
He was born on Christmas Day in Libya while his family were travelling during a military campaign in World War II. From an early age, he was always jealous of his older brother Richard and felt his parents treating Richard much better. In 1958, his parents divorced and he was made to go with his mother, separating from Richard and his father, much to Alexander's delight. He was educated at Dorling School and Bridge College, Billopec before joining the Imperial Air Command (IAC) until 1971.
Battle for the Throne
In 1971, his father George Billopec died and Alexander argued against his brother Richard, the heir-apparent, claiming he had a right to the throne. His claim was obviously unfounded, as he had no evidence to go on, so willingly left, but was still not happy with the result. He then travelled to the Empire of Hontock where he brought an army of mercenaries from Lord Ogenarc and in 1975, went to takeover the throne by force. This was a shock to his family who immediately condemned his actions and stripped him of his title. The army of Bilopesha, lead by Richard, attacked his army at the Battle Of The Billopecs. Alexander lost the battle but managed to escape. He was then made a criminal wanted for treason but was not sighted anywhere since the battle.
In Exile
For 29 years, Alexander's whereabouts was unknown with no confirmed sightings and no messages had been recieved from him. There obviously were claims and suspicions of his whereabouts but none had been confirmed or had lead to his capture.
Revolution and Reign
Eventually, it was in June 2007 when he reappeared with no warning. It was during the Billopeshian Civil War when Billopesha was a republic. Being an obvious strong imperialist, he was appointed as leader of the Imperialist Party after the assasination of their previous leader, Max Trotter, and he was believed, by imperialists, to be the perfect leader of their cause. He immediately lead the party to attempt a revolution which after only 16 days, succeeded in taking over the government and expelling the Prime Minister Aaron Thorne. Alexander restored the monarchy and crowned himself as Imperial Lord of Billopesha Alexander IX on 8th July, acting as an absolute monarchy of the nation. He was ruler of Billopesha for only 3 months and 6 days before the government lead by Aaron Thorne and Richard VI raided the Lord's Palace and had him arrested for high treason. He is now in temporary imprisionment awaiting trail where he will undoubtedly recieve the death penalty.
