History
Founded in 2005 after the overthrow of dictator Joseph Kabila, the Commonwealth of Northern Congo (CNR)unites the former Democratic Republic of the Congo with Rwanda and Burundi. The creation of the CNR occured during a time of consolidation for the countries of central Africa.
Natural Resources
The CNR is rich in mineral resources, such as diamond, copper, zinc, and uranium.
