The People's Democratic Republic of Karuchea is a Socialist state led by the Communist Party of Karuchea. It's economy has been booming since the Arab-coup of 1965.

History

Colonization

Karuchea is relatively new as a political entity and was founded by the British who used it as a base on the edge of Europe and the Middle East. It has many people of Spanish and German descent as well as Arabs, who are the majority. The Colony of Karuchea was split into a civil war in 1914, with the German-population revolting, a similar situtation occured during World War II except with the Spanish population alongside the Germans. Finally, the Country was granted independance in 1945.

Independance and Chinese influence

After independance, a German by the name of Heins Reich seized power and established himself as dictator. He was a firm supporter of the Chinese Revolution and subsequently sided with the Chinese in the Sino-Soviet Split. However, his minority rule was not appreciated by the Arab population and he was overthrown in 1965 and replaced by Muhammed El-Shabazz.

Arab Nationalism

Muhammed El-Shabazz established himself as dictator and founded the Great Socialist Jamahiriya of Karuchea which alongside Prachanda and Quezadria founded the Green Revolution region. They were soon joined by Eskvindblair, Afemera and other non-Arabs who were friendly to Arab Socialism. Karuchea was frequently near-war due to a militant Pro-Arab and Pro-Islam stance across the world. Despite rather harsh rule by Shabazz, the nation was prosperous and the people genuinly supported the foreign policy of their country. El-Shabazz signed a co-operation pact with the Soviet Union in 1971 and began to move towards close relations with the Socialist Bloc. Soon it was conducting 40% of it's trade with the nations of the Council for Mutual Economic Assisstance and became an observer in it. El-Shabazz died in 1990, but not after harshly criticizing Perestroika and Glasnost. His successor, Hafez Al-Akim, led them on a far different path after the fall of the Soviet Union and the loss of 40% of trade.

Proletarian Revolution and Marxism-Leninism

In 1992, Hafez Al-Akim privatized all industry and denounced Arab Socialism and pronounced that Arab Unity was "a dream and nothing more". This severly disillusioned the populace, which had been told for years about the "truth of Arab Unity and Socialism". This populace revolted in 2003 leading Hafez to send in the military. However, military leader Bashar Al-Mohamet sided with the people and ordered the military to deliver arms to them. This led to the Revolution of 2003, where Hafez was killed and the Council of People's Interests set-up. In 2004, the constitution was confirmed which established the Communist Party of Karuchea as the vanguard of the working class and Karuchea as a Marxist-Leninist Republic. The Socialist Constitution renamed Karuchea the "People's Democratic Republic of Karuchea" and went into effect January of 2005. In June of 2005, Chairman of the Council of State Bashar Al-Mohamet alongside Manuel Chavez of Tricontinental, Mengistu Al-Muhammed of Mengistua and Andred of Eskvindblair signed the Alliance of Socialism which brought the Communist Revival bloc into effect and calls for the victory of Marxism-Leninism and the defeat of Capitalism and Modern-Revisionism.

Politics and elections

The Socialist Constitution of Karuchea, in effect as of January 2005 places the Communist Party of Karuchea as the vanguard of the nation and the working class and sets Marxism-Leninism as the ideology of the state. Each factory is a Soviet, which sends one delegate a year to the Council of State where each Soviet recieves one vote. This is the supreme legislature of the state. Any major change not during this meeting period is put up through popular referendum. The Communist Party of Karuchea appoints the Supreme Court of Karuchea. The Council of State also votes a Chairman, which is the President of the nation. The first, and so far, only Chairman of the Council of State is the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Karuchea, Bashar Al-Mohamet.

Economy

Karuchea runs socialist economy, whose purpose is to serve the needs of the people. The economy has a long history of Socialist-style and the only period since independance where it wasn't Socialized was 1992-2005 where the economy began to rapidly decline. The economy is a planned one and runs a series of 5-year plans. The First Five Year Plan of Karuchea will begin in 2006 and end in 2010. It calls for increased production of food and heavy industry. As part of the new constitution, private property has been taken over by the state.

Religion

The constitution provides freedom of religion. Religion is very important to the average citizen and 90% of the country follows Islam with a further 9% following Catholicism. Despite providing for freedom of religion, only Christianity, Judaism and Islam are enshrined in the constitution as religions of the country with Buddhism also allowed to exist. It is said that all churches and mosques report directly to the Communist Party and are de-facto run by the Party.

Society

Crime is extremely low by any standards and now is virtually non-existant due to the history of Islamic Law. Society is very centred around Socialism with kids being in the Young Pioneers and Young Communist League until they reach the age to be in the Communist Party. Right now most everything in the country is centred on the Party and the victory of Marxism-Leninism. Although this revolutionary surge may wane. Society is very equal and more Women are in the Council of State than any other Islamic Country on earth.

Foreign Policy

Karuchea's military is large and experianced in all situations due to its highly militant stances in the past. It still maintains decent, though declining, relations with many Arab countries. Right now it is part of the Communist Revival bloc and is a founding member of the new Council for Mutual Economic Assisstance which aims to integrate the economies of Eskvindblair, Tricontinental, Mengistua, Karuchea and Stalinstadt. Karuchea also maintains close ties to Afemera who it has offered a spot in the bloc and the CMEA. Karuchea is very militant and Anti-Trotskyist, Anti-Anarchist and Anti-Reformist and strictly adheres to Marxism-Leninism and the spread of Socialism.
