The Allied States of EuroIslanders (ASE) is a region of about 300 members. It is one of the largest socialist regions in NationStates.
Regional Government
The government of the ASE is modeled on the Athenian direct democracy, representation in its purest form. Each nation, therefore, receives one vote in the Assembly to vote on issues such as wars, alliance alert status, new Charters, and government officials.
No member of the ASE, according to its legislature, has more power than anyone else. However, the figurehead is the Regional Delegate, elected at regular intervals. The current Delegate of the ASE is Danitoria. The other members of the government, called the Strategoi (singular: Strategos), who are members of a body called the Strategia, all deal with various positions in the government, such as treaties, intelligence, etc.
Alliance Defense Network Relations
The Alliance Defense Network and the ASE have had rocky relations. Many ADN members disliked ASE members, and vice versa. In September 2004, the Allied States of EuroIslanders left the ADN but continued defending through their membership in the Red Liberty Alliance.
