Alurus

History for us begins a mere few centuries ago, though we now know it has stretched much farther back. We crawled from the ruins of an event known only as the great war. The events leading up to it are fuzzy, but the results are clear. Several great nations fought a war using extensive use of biological, chemical and nuclear weapons with the intend on wiping eaqch other from the face of the planet.

we believe the war last for 8 years, and humanity in Alurus only began to become apparent again 80 years later. From these people three ethnic groups emerged, the Helgan, The Zaniba, and the Auchat. throughout the region tiny states each ruled by a different warlord rose, while too small to war with another they formed the beginnings of society anew. (the above Archon of Cybell was one such Warlord)

It is from one of these nations a leader arose, Lord Cronus, who through a combination of luck and skill was able to motivate thre local leaders into a powerblock. Using his new dominace he began to quickly absorb the surronding areas. His war of conquest took him across the fueldal areas and he declared himself the Emporer Cronus I of the Royal Helghan Empire. By his death he had done something noone had dreamed of, he had united 1/3 of Alurus under his banner.

His son, Emporer Cronus II, Proved as intelligent and skilled as his father and by the end of his life had completed the job of gathering all humans under his throne (though some areas maintained most of their independance, most notable the pegasus coast).

Under the rule of a succession of sons the Empire grew rich, many ecological zones were cleaned and cities built, but in the end the power of the Emporoers waned as smaller laeders bagan to demand more freedom and power. To this end when Emporer Gonam IV died unexpectly, with no heir or children, the Empire collapsed into Anarchy. Families warred for the throne and genberals took their armies rouge looting cities and taking over entire nations. This became know as the Alurus War of Ascension.

At its end Alurus remains fractured, now a multitude of nations each attepting to survive (and many attpeting to exteminated another)

The Original Royal Helghan Empire is now split into 5 warring nations, each claiming to be the worthy successor of the Emporer: West Helghast, Northern Helghast, East Helghast, Southern Helghast and South Helghast

From the Myths of time come stories of terrible technologies, teeming masses of mindless drones, a renaissance reborne, and a noble class that believes that the world is their inheritance. The peoples of Alurus have come to know a new entity in their war for dominance, the lost empire of Ibïtha

Little is known of the history of Ibïtha. It is believed that they were an influencial faction during the great war, but at some point during that war the empire of Ibïtha grew tired of the never ending conflict. They retreated to the very recesses of their once great coastal empire and there they concentrated on developing the means of surviving the great conflict.

Eventually they were successful. Through the miracles of technology the means to fully defend themselves had been developed. Impenetrable shields of energy surounded the few cities that had survived, and EMP based defenses made it all but impossible to make it to Ibïthan territory. They had succeeded, but the Ibïthan people were devestated. All but their last bastions of civilization were detroyed and 99.9% of their population was afflicted by a brain damaging bio-toxin that made the people of Ibïtha practically brain dead. Civilization as they knew it was gone. From the farthest reaches of the beuatiful Ibïthan tower cities came the survivors. Societies elite. The best of society had been hidden away and now they were all that was left.

Through the Science of Cybernetics society was rebuilt. The Ibïthan survivors simply sacrificed the bodies of their dead kinsmen and added a cybernetic brain. A frightning labour force of around 900 million had been built. The dead of Ibïtha had become slaves to the survivors. Through this means Ibïtha was reborne.

Through the miracles of science they weathered the war but they paid a price. They have spent the last 80 years rebuilding the society that was once one of the greatest of the world. With only 1 million of their original 2 billion people left they have rebuilt society in their image. A society based around the cynical noble class.

But soon after Ibïtha was rebuilt physically, it was torn apart spiritually. There came into being three distinct ways of life. It was decided that the nation of Ibïtha would be split into three nations accordong to ones beliefs before it was rent apart by the impending conflict. For those who believed that the ways of old were to be continued Maazicland was created. For those who believed in martial supremacy and conquest the Hydra Concordium was created. And those who believed in a society that would mold the surviving world into what it desired the Pegesus Consortium was formed.

The Ibïthan people have been reborne in the fallout of a great war. As emerging societies are testing their new found strengths, the Ibïthan people are learning to live on a global scale once again after decades of isolation. Though there technologies may be great they are a people of small proportions and steps will have to be taken to ensure there dominance in the region of Alurus.
